HARLOW Conservative parliamentary hopeful Robert Halfon travels to Africa tomorrow (Thursday) to assist a groundbreaking voluntary project aimed at boosting development. Mr Halfon will more than 100 Tory activists, including 10 MP,- for the two week scheme in war-torn Rwanda which saw a million people wiped out in a genocide 14 years ago.

A WOMAN who was arrested with three other people over an arson attack which killed a woman and severely disabled her boyfriend, has been released on bail. Two men and two women were detained by officers yesterday (Tuesday) over the 2005 murder of Kerry Youngs and the grievous bodily harm of her boyfriend Kevin Chapple.

A CHEMIST shop store room has been damaged after a bin fire got out of control. Firefighters were called to Prentice Place, Harlow, at about 12.40am this morning (Wednesday, July 23) to reports a bin was alight.

PLANS to build a Harlow bypass linking the M11 with the A414 have taken a step closer to fruition following talks between the minister for transport and Bill Rammell MP. The Rt Hon Rosie Winterton met with Mr Rammell last week to discuss the proposals, and hinted that the new road could potentially be paid for using monies from the town's regional funding allowance - which is due to come under review this summer.
